Keshi has Hope in Balogun

Super Eagles head coach Stephen Keshi says
he expects Germany-based defender Leon
Balogun to impress with his team ahead of the
2014 FIFA World Cup.
The Fortuna Dussledolf defender was a late
inclusion in the Nigeria squad due to battle
Mexico in a friendly encounter in Atlanta, USA,
in hours’ time (Thursday 2.30am Nigerian
time), after skipper Joseph Yobo pulled out
due to an undisclosed strain.
Keshi said: “We have to look to the future and
that is why we called up Balogun, he has been
in our plans for a long time and it was just
about time that he steps out into the team for
us to see what he can do and I must say I am
glad that he responded well and the boys here
also welcomed him well.
Keshi Tips Balogun (R) to Shine for Eagles.
“He is not replacing Yobo at all. Yobo was
still bent on coming for the game even if just
to support the team, but I told him to relax
and recover quickly for the World Cup.”
